Kick off a project any time during the school year!

Catalyst Connection provides the Manufacturing Innovation Challenge program to local high schools to get students out of the classroom to visit a facility and change up the pace of normal classroom activity to work on a real-world project.

Program Overview:

Catalyst Connection will pair your school with a local company and facilitate the project. A group of your high school students will go into a local manufacturing company as “outside consultants” to tour and learn about a REAL problem they are facing. The students then go back to school to work on a solution for a set period of time. Once the students have reached a solution to the company’s problem, they present their findings as a professional group to the company.

  • Easily integrated into your district’s current curriculum while supporting and enhancing classroom learning for ANY subject!
  • Supports development of critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration, and other skills that are extremely valued in the workplace.
  • Offers flexibility to align to your educational environment and schedule. There are two visits to the local company, but the majority of the time working on the project is done with students working in the classroom.
  • Funding support is available for transportation costs.
